The Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee (or MCDCC) is the local party leadership of the Democratic Party. The MCDCC primarily serves to represent and support Democratic voters within the county on and off the ballot. The aim is to engage, register, and educate voters while also working with the local Precinct Organization, Democratic Clubs, and Caucuses to create policy positions on various issues that are important to voters.

Beyond voter engagement and education, the MCDCC has the opportunity to fill vacancies in the Maryland General Assembly for seats representing Montgomery County. Given that nearly one-third of the Maryland General Assembly has been appointed, Dan believes it is critically important to use this ability to ensure strong, progressive, practical, and most importantly, diverse, individuals are appointed to fill these vacancies. The pipeline for a strong Democratic party stems from this power.
The MCDCC is composed of 24 members, 2 members from each of the 8 districts in Montgomery County, plus 8 at-large members. The Central Committee is divided evenly by gender as no two members from any one district and no more than 4 at-large members may be of the same gender. This requirement ensures that our party is reflective of the voters it represents.
